Oh hey! Nicole here coming at you live with a few updates on this fine Friday. #1: The Kit migration is done. I (somehow) survived and remain (mostly) intact. If you were following along back when I sent this email (which, btw, has a pretty solid lesson on copy and getting hesitant buyers to buy), you’ll know that I had approximately one thousand fears about migrating from Mailchimp to Kit. Dear reader, I have emerged on the other side. Mostly intact and miraculously absent of tech crises. It took longer than expected, to be sure…. but here we are, officially sending from Kit. If anything looks weird or wonky on your end – formatting, links, anything at all – please hit reply and let me know. Still getting my bearings. #2: The next Quick Copy Clinic is scheduled for June! ICYMI: the Quick Copy Clinic is a live copy review session where I’ll go through your copy, offer specific and helpful feedback to strengthen it for clarity and conversion, and just generally be as helpful as I can. You can bring whatever copy you’d like a second set of eyes on – your homepage, a services page, a sales page for your signature offer or something new you’re launching, an email, you name it. Small group setting (only 5 seats available), tickets are just 9 bucks, and you don’t even have to be there live to get your copy reviewed. #3: And finally, we have a stress fracture situation over here. Surprise! I have a stress fracture in my tibia. It doesn’t hurt, which I’m grateful for… but we’re about three months into recovery with a few more to go, which means my favorite activities have been unceremoniously taken off the table for the moment. So no trail running (which, as an Idaho resident, at least means I don’t have to worry about the mountain lions). And definitely no flipping through the air at my adult gymnastics classes, either. I’ve half-heartedly taken up indoor swimming in the meantime. (And when I say half-heartedly, I mean I’ve done it exactly once and found it to be a spectacularly humbling experience). Anyway! We’re fine. Everything is fine. Mostly, I’m just slightly grumpier than usual, which this week’s bout of sickness has done absolutely nothing to improve. Okay, that’s all I’ve got. Here’s a rapid-fire “let’s make your website (or sales page) convert better” tip for you on this fine Thursday morning. It’s about your bio. You see, most bios do a perfectly *acceptable* job of explaining what someone does. And hey, they might even cover how they do it. But they still remain painfully generic with something like: “I’m a [title] who helps [audience] achieve [outcome].” Which sounds okay (ish)! Until you realize it also sounds like it could have been written by ~literally...
